River’s End Rafting (RER) specializes in FUN! Join us in an exciting Whitewater Rafting Adventure! We are located on the outskirts of Bakersfield, California, and are the closest outfitter to Los Angeles!
We are family-owned and operated with years and years of experience. Safety is always our top priority, and we have a variety of activities to suit your family’s wild side. Our goal is to bring the magic of the Kern River to your family in the safest and most fun way possible!

Adventure is at the core of everything we do. We are not happy sitting at home doing nothing. We truly believe that life begins outside of our comfort zone. That being said, we work hard to make sure your experience is as comfortable as possible. If you’re not satisfied, then we’re not satisfied. The customer comes first and is always right. This is our mantra.
RER is a seventeen-year-old company with roots that grow deep into the rafting culture here on the Mighty Kern River. A long time ago, we were born from our parent company, Kern River Tours (KRT), which is the oldest and longest-standing outfitter on the Kern River. Rick Roberts, the original owner, pioneered rafting on the Kern River. He even went so far as to blast rocks with dynamite to clear the channels. Don’t worry; he was a qualified Rocket Scientist as well.
Our operation functioned as an appendage to KRT for a very long time, until the summer of 2005 when River’s End Rafting became an independent operation from the mother ship. Ever since, we have had a laser-beam focus on our portion of the river, the Rio Bravo Section. We love what we have and feel it is prime river real estate. Everyone who rafts on it agrees. It has great rapids, fun terrain, excellent swimming holes, and is in very close proximity to the city.
